MSI’s technology is based on 3 years of extensive research in the area of microbial biofilm removal, with a strong focus on Candida albicans. The company’s challenge was to develop a disinfecting formula that complied with the following 6 criteria:
- efficiently remove biofilm from all types of polymer used in the manufacturing of dentures, appliances, removable orthodontic appliances and toothbrushes
- efficiently clean (to include the removal of coffee and tobacco stains, and other contaminants) and disinfect dentures, removable orthodontic appliances and toothbrushes
- non corrosive to metal parts of dentures and removable orthodontic appliances and toothbrushes (many toothbrushes can contain metal parts)
- compatible with acrylics without causing coloration or distortion
- non toxic to oral and/or gingival mucosa
- quick and easy to use
